Vaping has come a long way since its inception. Starting off as a simple battery pen & coil style device to deliver nicotine, its devices and more so its culture have expanded in many massive ways. From the evolution of freebase to salt nicotine or sub ohms to closed pods, disposables and more, there's always something attention grabbing or claiming it's the newest and best for modern vaping. Now, Innokin is ready to make headlines with their newest device, the Lota. Innokin describes the Lota as “Innokin’s all-new sub-brand pushing the boundaries of performance, reliability, and innovation within the entry-level vaping sector.” What really makes the Lota stand out as a forerunner in a likely soon to be trend, is that its E-juice is water based! Teaming up with Aquios Labs, this is their first line of products containing water based E-juice. The E juice will contain 30% water based, which according to Innokin, “result in a vaping experience that no other device can replicate, with no leakage, enhanced flavor clarity and faster nicotine satisfaction.”
Innokin plans to release three devices under this line. The first being the Enviro, a device they claim is the first ever disposable that you can properly disassemble and recycle. The Lota Prefilled Pod Kit, which works like any closed pod system, & the Lota K disposable. “Millions of smokers around the world have made the switch to disposable vaping devices. They’re simple, convenient, and far more affordable than cigarettes. We believe any technology that replaces cigarettes is worth pursuing. There’s just one problem: disposable vaping devices are wasteful. Plastic casings and built-in batteries shouldn’t go to a landfill after just one use. We saw a problem that needed solving, so we created Enviro.” So you may be asking yourself, what is the actual benefit of using water based E-liquid in comparison to our regular ones we’re used to?
Well, according to Innokin, “Water-based technology and e-liquids result in a vaping experience that no other device can replicate, with no leakage, enhanced flavor clarity and faster nicotine satisfaction.” On top of this, Innokin claims that by using water based E-liquid, the problem of Dehydration and vapers tongue will ultimately be eliminated. Using water based E-liquid will also not require as much heat ultimately resulting with a longer battery life.
As much as all of this does sound amazing, especially taking vaping in a positive direction environmentally, like any marketing promise take it with a grain of salt. The Lota is still beginning its rollout and as the device begins to hit more shops we will be sure to update you. As for the concept itself, it will be interesting to see if this sets a precedent for brands going forward, all wanting to tap into the water based E-liquid industry. We saw it happen with salt nicotine, bold 50 & all the other trends in vaping. Only time and testing will tell if Water Based E-liquid will really hit the mark it hopes to.
